STANFORD, Calif. – No. 3 Stanford men's tennis opened its Sunday doubleheader at Taube Family Tennis Stadium with a 4-0 victory over Air Force to improve to 13-1 on the season.
The Cardinal's top doubles team of Tom Fawcett and Axel Geller didn't drop a game in its win at the No. 1 spot and the No. 2 doubles team of Timothy Sah and David Wilczynski clinched the doubles point for Stanford in 28 minutes with a 6-1 victory.
Sameer Kumar, playing at No. 1 singles, gave Stanford its second point with a 6-3, 6-1 win.
Moments later, Sam Turchetta posted a 6-4, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot and William Genesen clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the No. 4 spot.
The Cardinal returns to action later Sunday afternoon against Army. Action is set to get underway at 3 p.m. PT.
