STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford field hockey program was recently honored with a 2017 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award.
The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that earned a team GPA of 3.30 or higher during the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year.
Additionally, sophomore Kelsey Bing was named a NFHCA Division I Scholar of Distinction recipient, presented to student-athletes who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.
A two-time NFHCA Division I National Academic squad honoree, Bing was tabbed a Longstreth/NFHCA West Region Second Team selection in 2017. Named the America East Goalkeeper of the Year this season, Bing made 112 saves and led Stanford to its fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
