Another Awards Sweep

STANFORD, Calif. - For the second time this year, Stanford swept the weekly Pac-12 lacrosse awards as freshman Galen Lew was named Offensive Player of the Week and Allie DaCar earned Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday. DaCar was named National Player of the Week by IWLCA on Wednesday.

Lew had the game-winning short-handed goal in sudden victory overtime against No. 13 USC on Sunday. For the week, she had five goals, four assists, nine points, six ground balls and an .833 shooting percentage. On Friday, she led Stanford with four points on two goals and two assists in a decisive 17-7 win over Arizona State, and against the 13th-ranked Trojans, she finished with a hat trick and two assists, including the game-winner. She was efficient all weekend as she scored on both shots on Friday and 3-of-4 shots on Saturday.

DaCar did not allow a goal in the final 18:08 of regulation and all 8:37 of the multi-overtime comeback victory over USC. She made seven straight saves in that time as Stanford overcame a four-goal deficit in the final 13 minutes to earn a 12-11 victory and move into first place in the Pac-12. Overall, she made 10 saves against the Trojans with a .476 save percentage. On Friday, she made five saves and allowed just five goals against the Sun Devils. For the week, Allie went 2-0 and made 15 saves with a .484 save percentage. She also scooped up three ground balls.

Stanford also swept these awards on March 5 after an East Coast sweep of No. 16 Duke and Elon. DaCar was the defensive recipient and senior Kelsey Murray was the Offensive Player of the Week.

On Friday, the Cardinal visits Tempe to take on Arizona State at 5 p.m. PT, and then Stanford and USC square off in Los Angeles on Sunday on Pac-12 Networks at 2 p.m.
