STANFORD, Calif. – The 26th-ranked Stanford women's gymnastics team was selected to compete in the Salt Lake City NCAA Regional Championships on April 7 in Salt Lake City, Utah, it was announced Monday.
This marks the 35th consecutive year the Cardinal has been chosen to compete and the 37th overall. Stanford claimed regional crowns in 1999, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2016.
Seven Pac-12 schools earned regional bids.
Joining the Cardinal in Salt Lake City will be the host Utes, Cal, Auburn, BYU and Southern Utah.
In all, 36 teams received invites to six sites. The top two teams and four individuals not on advancing teams from each site qualify to the NCAA Championships, April 20-21 in St. Louis.
Stanford is coming off a seventh-place showing at the Pac-12 Championships in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday. Senior Elizabeth Price tied for first place on the uneven bars and floor exercise, and was named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year, the first two-time winner in program history.
A six-time All-American, Price is the third-ranked gymnast in the country. She is tied for first on bars, ranks third in all-around, is tied for third in floor, and is fourth on vault.
