SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Five Cardinal had multi-goal efforts and No. 1 Stanford scored the game's final 10 goals to win at No. 17 UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday afternoon, 17-2.

Makenzie Fischer scored five for the second consecutive game and accounted for 10 of Stanford's 25 goals on its two-game swing through Irvine and Santa Barbara. Kat Klass collected her third hat trick of the season, including the 100th goal of her career in Wednesday's win. Kayla Constandse, Katie Dudley and Cassidy Wiley each added two goals for the Cardinal, which moved to 13-1 overall and will have a week and a half off before it resumes MPSF action at No. 4 UCLA on Saturday, April 7.

Stanford was up 7-2 late in the third period when it broke the game open with a 10-goal run, which included three goals in less than a minute near the end of the quarter. Klass started the stretch with her 100th career goal at 1:16 following a steal by Aria Fischer. Makenzie Fischer garnered the takeaway on UCSB's next possession, sped down the pool and hit Madison Berggren for the score with 59 seconds on the clock. With 18 seconds to go, Aria Fischer fed Makenzie Fischer to put the Cardinal on top 10-2 heading into the fourth.

Stanford's defense forced a shot clock violation on the Gaucho's first possession of the final frame and its offense promptly scored at the other end when Berggren assisted Makenzie Fischer (7:12). The elder Fischer would score again at even strength a little over a minute later (6:01) to collect her second, five-goal effort in as many games and third of the season.

Sarah Klass kept the run going at 5:20 with her seventh of the year and a Cassidy Wiley steal preceded a Kayla Constandse goal at 4:53. Sarah Klass assisted on the next two Stanford tallies, which both came in the 6-on-5 courtesy of drawn exclusions by Mackenzie Wiley. Cassidy Wiley converted first at 3:56 and then it was Constandse at 2:30. Constandse found Anna Rajaratnam for the freshman's first career goal with 15 seconds to go to close it out.

Emalia Eichelberger got the start in the cage and made five saves in two quarters of action. Julia Hermann came on in the second half and stopped four. Each allowed one of UCSB's two goals.

Stanford scored the game's first five with the opening two coming from Kat Klass to kick start her hat trick. Makenzie Fischer rattled the cage on the power play early in the second quarter and at even strength midway through the third before her three-goal run across the third and fourth periods completed her five-score outburst.

The Cardinal was 4-of-7 on the power play and its defense had nine steals and four field blocks.
