McGrady Makes the Cut

STANFORD, Calif. – Defender Tegan McGrady has been named to the United States Women's National Team, as announced Sunday by head coach Jill Ellis.

McGrady, who started at left back during Stanford's national championship-winning 2017 season, joins the training camp for games against Mexico on April 5 in Jacksonville and April 8 in Houston. McGrady has represented the United States at the U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels, recently starting all three matches in the Thorns Spring Invitational with the U-23's.

McGrady replaces former Cardinal Kelley O'Hara in the squad – O'Hara was ruled out of the camp with an injury. She, along with teammate Tierna Davidson, is one of seven defenders in the squad, which will be narrowed to 18 for each friendly. Former Cardinal Jane Campbell and Andi Sullivan are also in attendance.

A 2017 All-Pac-12 second teamer, McGrady has started 43-of-53 appearances on The Farm, totaling three goals and 11 assists, including a career-high five helpers in 2017. She assisted both of Jordan DiBiasi's goals in the 2017 College Cup semifinal win over Santa Clara, returning from injury to start Stanford's final three games.
