STANFORD, Calif. – Two early home runs by the Beavers set up Oregon State for a 4-1 win over Stanford, Friday, in the series opener at Smith Family Stadium.
Stanford (22-17, 2-8 Pac-12) scored its lone run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning to avoid the shutout. Sophomore shortstop Kristina Inouye led off with a single to shallow right field. Redshirt junior first baseman Whitney Burks picked up the RBI with a double down the left line.
Junior Carolyn Lee earned the start in the circle for the Cardinal, falling to 3-4. She tallied three strikeouts and gave up four runs on eight hits in a complete game. Oregon State's Mariah Mazon earned the win and moved to 10-10 on the year.

Oregon State (22-17, 5-8 Pac-12) third baseman Missy Nunes hit a two-run shot to left field for a 2-0 advantage in the second. First baseman Hope Brandner added a solo home run in the top of the third for the Beavers.
Oregon State scored its final run in the fifth inning as center fielder Jessica Garcia roped a triple to right centerfield, bringing home shortstop McKenna Arriola.

Stanford and Oregon State will meet again on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Smith Family Stadium. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
