Two More in Class of 2022

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford softball added two more to its Class of 2022 as head coach Jessica Allister announced Hannah Matteson and Kate Cressey as the newest members of the Cardinal on Monday.

"We are excited to announce the addition of Hannah and Kate to the Stanford softball family," Allister said. "Our depth, in the both the infield and the outfield, is a necessity moving into next season, and Hannah and Kate will address those needs."

Hannah Matteson • OF • San Diego, CA

  • Three-time first-team all-league (2015, 2016, 2017)
  • Set school record for hits (52) and stolen bases (31) in 2015
  • Two-time All-Academic (golf), 2017 All-Academic (softball)

Kate Cressey • UT • Arlington, VA

  • Four-time all-conference selection
  • Four-year FloSoftball Hot 100 List prospect
  • Four-year Regional Athletic Honor Roll
  • Also lettered three years in track & field, (2015 indoor shot put conference champion)

In November, the Cardinal welcomed Taylor Gindlesperger, Emily KlingamanMolly Millar,  Emily Schultz and Emily Young to The Farm.

"As we began to put together this class, our goal was to identify and sign talented, driven student-athletes that have the potential to thrive in the classroom and on the field at Stanford, and that have the desire to push themselves to become the best students and softball players that they can be," Allister said of the recruiting class. "I believe we have accomplished that goal with this class."

  • Two-time first-team all-state
  • First-team all-metro (VA, DC, MD)
  • EC Bullets finished seventh at PGF nationals

 Molly Millar • P • Clovis, Calif.

  • First-Team TRAC conference Pitcher of the Year
  • NFCA first-team All-West Region
  • Three-time NFCA All-America Academic Scholar Athlete
  • CIF Central California State Championship

 Emily Schultz • UT • Aurora, Ill.

  • Three-time Beacon News first-team all-area
  • Three-time Southwest Prairie Conference selection
  • 2017 Oswego Ledger Player of the Year
  • Led area with a .544 batting average

 Emily Young • UT • Mason, Ohio

  • 2016 and 2017 GGCL Player of the Year
  • 2016 and 2017 secnd-team all-state
  • 2016 and 2017 NFCA All-American
  • 2017 GGCL Champions
  • Two-time USA Hockey National runner-up
