AZUSA, Calif. – Stanford's Harrison Williams completed his first decathlon since 2016, scoring 7,682 points at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University.

A four-time All-American, Williams competed in his first multi since before he took a redshirt season last year, and placed fourth Thursday after the 10-event competition. Williams was the third collegian in the field, with Olympian Zach Ziemek winning with 8,181.

Williams crept as high as second after winning the pole vault at 17-0 ¾ (5.30 meters) in the eighth event. Over two days, Williams set one personal record, with a discus throw of 137-1 (41.79m), and his Wednesday shot put distance of 44-10 ¼ (13.67m) was his best during a decathlon. Williams' total places him at No. 8 on the collegiate season list.

Williams completed his first decathlon since representing the United States against Germany in the 2016 Thorpe Cup in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
