America East Tourney Host

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford will host the 2018 America East Conference Championship, with the tournament scheduled for Nov. 1-4 at the Varsity Turf.

Stanford, the two-time defending conference champion, will play host to a postseason conference tournament for the first time since 2011. The Varsity Turf, which will house the Cardinal program for the 21st season in 2018, served five times as the host site for the NorPac Conference Championship.

A member of the America East since 2015, Stanford will be one of eight teams competing in the conference tournament. The tournament will include four schools from each of the conference's East (UMass Lowell, Albany, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont) and West (Stanford, Pacific, California and UC Davis) divisions.

This will mark the fourth year that the America East Field Hockey Championship will be played in its current format. The championship week will begin with the league's annual awards banquet on the evening before the tournament begins.

Stanford wrapped up the 2017 campaign at 13-8 overall, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year before falling in the first round to Miami (Ohio). The Cardinal captured its second straight conference championship, defeating New Hampshire 4-1 in the America East final.
