STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford sailing finished seventh at the Wick Women's on a chilly New England weekend. It was the final warmup for the Cardinal prior to the conference championships.
Stanford finished among the top half of the 18 schools in New Haven. The Cardinal finished with 143 points, while College of Charlston took the title with just 97 points.
In the A Division, the junior tandem of skipper Mimi El-Khazindar and crew Meg Gerli finished ninth with 78 points. They finished in the top five in four of the nine races.
Meanwhile, in the B Division, skipper Stephanie Houck and crew Victoria Thompson and Sophia Solé finished sixth. They also combined for four top five finishes and totaled 65 points.
Next weekend, Stanford will host the Women's PCCSC Championships. Several sailors will head East for the Navy Spring Coed in Annapolis, Maryland, and the Thompson Trophy in Connecticut.
