Academic Leaders

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford led the conference with 18 Pac-12 Women's Lacrosse All-Academic selections as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. 

Stanford, which also led the conference with six All-Pac-12 selections, had a league-best five first-team academic honorees and seven second-teamers. Colorado and Oregon were tied for second with 10 selections each.

Kelsey Murray, Maggie Nick, Madison O'Leary, Cameron Park and Dillon Schoen were named to the first team, while Areta Buness, Allie DaCar, Jacie Lemos, Julia Massaro, Kyra Pelton, Sandy Smith and Mikaela Watson were second-team selections. 

Daniella McMahon, Libby Muir, Kelly Myers, Julia Persche, Sydney Shaw and Monika Sivilli were honorable mention honorees. 

Earlier this year, Murray was named the Pac-12 Scholar of the Year.

The Cardinal (15-5) finished with the second-most wins in school history which included an 8-2 record in the first Pac-12 regular season. As the second seed, Stanford won the inaugural Pac-12 Tournament championship with a come-from-behind win over third-seeded and No. 20 USC, 15-14, and a dominant performance over top-seeded and 14th-ranked Colorado, 15-6, in Boulder, Colorado. Stanford made its eighth NCAA appearance and seventh in the last nine seasons before falling to Virginia in the first round.
