STANFORD, Calif. –Three members of the Stanford men's golf team earned All-Pac-12 honors, it was announced Thursday.
Junior Brandon Wu was selected to the first team, while seniors Franklin Huang and Jeffrey Swegle were named to the second team. Junior Isaiah Salinda received honorable mention.
"It was a good representation by the whole team to have four guys mentioned," Conrad Ray, the Knowles Director of Men's Golf said. "Brandon has had a solid season and Jeff's play of late puts him in the top group in the conference."
Wu has competed in a team-high 10 tournaments and averaged 70.50. He collected three top-10 finishes and six top-20's, highlighted by a runner-up showing at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invite. A product of Danville, California, he was an All-Pac-12 second team pick in 2016-17 and made the All-Pac-12 Freshman Team in 2015-16.
Huang was chosen to the second team for the third straight season. A native of Poway, California, he averaged 71.15 in nine events and racked up a squad-high four top-10's, led by an eighth-place finish at the Saint Mary's Invitational.
Swegle, who hails from West Des Moines, Iowa, came on strong at the end of the regular season, producing top-10's in two of the last three tournaments. He fired a career-low 8-under 63 at The Goodwin and claimed a Stanford-best runner-up showing. Swegle averaged 70.29 in seven starts.
Salinda competed in nine events and registered three top-10's. Also an All-Pac-12 honorable mention choice in 2016-17, the South San Francisco native averaged 71.60.
Justin Suh of USC was selected Pac-12 Golfer of the Year, while teammate Kaito Onishi was picked Freshman of the Year. Walter Chun of Cal was chosen Coach of the Year.
The voting was done by Pac-12 head coaches.
The No. 13 Cardinal returns to competition May 14-16 at the NCAA Stockton Regionals at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California.
