All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. – Franklin Huang, Jeffrey Swegle and Brandon Wu have earned Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status in 2017-18, it was announced Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
 
To be eligible, honorees must be a junior or senior academically, compete at least three years on the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, average 76.0 or lower, maintain a minimum grade-point-average of 3.2, and be of high moral character.
 
Huang, who graduated in June with a degree in mathematical and computational science, was All-Pac-12 second team and Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention. A native of Poway, Calif., he averaged 71.73 and recorded three top-10 finishes.
 
Swegle also earned a mathematical and computational science degree last month. A product of Wes Des Moines, Iowa, he was PING All-Region, All-Pac-12 second team and Pac-12 All-Academic team. Swegle averaged 70.93 and collected a career-best runner-up showing at The Goodwin.
 
Wu, a rising senior from Danville, Calif., was PING All-Region, All-Pac-12 first team and Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention. A product design major, he averaged a team-leading 70.61 and posted three top-fives, four top-10s and seven top-25s.
