STANFORD, Calif. – Amir Bashti has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week for games from Sept. 10 – Sept. 16.

The honor is the first of Bashti's career, the first of the season for the Cardinal and Stanford's 31st all-time player of the week selection.

The senior scored twice and added an assist in Stanford's weekend sweep of No. 15 UMass Lowell (1-0) and Delaware (3-0). On Friday, he set up the game-winner with a crafty back-heel flick that helped teammate Zach Ryan tally his first career goal in the 16th minute to sink the River Hawks.

Bashti found the back of the net twice less than two minutes apart against the Blue Hens on Sunday, scoring in each of the 17th and 19th minutes. The win was Stanford's third straight and more impressively extended its unbeaten streak to 21 matches dating back to last season, a program record.

The brace was the third of Bashti's career and his first since Sept. 28, 2017, a 5-0 Cardinal win on the road at San Diego State.

Stanford returns to action on Thursday night when it hosts Pacific at 7 p.m. in a match broadcast on Pac-12 Network.
