SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – No . 8 Stanford closed out the UCSB Asics Invitational with a 3-0 setback to host UC Santa Barbara, Saturday, at Rob Gym.

The Cardinal (0-3) struggled offensively, hitting .165 as a team, while the Gauchos posted a .348 team attack percentage. UCSB (2-1) kept the Cardinal out of system with its serves, finishing with seven aces.

Jaylen Jasper hit .400 with eight kills on 15 swings with just two errors. Junior outside hitter
Jordan Ewert also recorded eight kills, while
Kevin Rakestraw finished with five.

Russell Dervay started the match at setter, tallying 17 assists and three kills. Sophomore
Mason Tufuga took over at setter in the third set, posting eight assists, a kill and two digs. Senior libero
Evan Enriques had a match-best seven digs.

Roy McFarland and Corey Chavers both had nine kills for the Gauchos, hitting .571 and .316, respectively.

Stanford remains on the road next week, traveling to No. 1 Ohio State on Friday and No. 14 Ball State on Saturday.
