Sublime on Senior Day

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 1 Stanford set a season high in goals with a 7-0 win over No. 15 Colorado on Sunday at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

"We've been working on our finishing and it really showed today," said the Knowles Family Director of Women's Soccer Paul Ratcliffe. "It starts at the back for us, and our attacks feed off of our strength defensively. I'm proud of the way this team has improved as the season has gone along and we're looking forward to making another deep run."

Catarina Macario scored twice off the bench and Abby Greubel scored with two assists to lead the undefeated Cardinal (14-0-1, 6-0-0 Pac-12), while Alison Jahansouz made three key saves to earn the shutout. Stanford's unbeaten streak stretches to 37 games, a streak dating to Aug. 25, 2017.

Jordan DiBiasi and Kiki Pickett finished with one goal and one assist apiece, Civana Kuhlmann and Jaye Boissiere scored, Madison Haley registered two assists and Beattie Goad added an assist.
Stanford started on the front foot and never looked back, putting five past the Buffaloes (13-1-3, 5-1-2) before the halftime whistle. Kuhlmann opened the scoring in the third minute, nodding home Abby Greubel's cross for her third goal of the season and third career goal against the Buffaloes.

In the ninth minute, it was Kuhlmann once again at the heart of Stanford's attack, gaining position and winning a penalty kick in the box that was emphatically converted by DiBiasi. Macario made it 3-0 in the 30th minute, seconds after entering the game. She collected the ball from Goad in the box, with her first touch setting her up for a confident finish into the top corner.

In the 35th minute, Pickett started and finished a beautiful combination with Haley for the Cardinal's fourth. Pickett raced forward from her right back position, executing a sublime one-two with Haley, who teed up Pickett for the first-time finish inside the far post.

Jaye Boissiere's first goal of the season gave Stanford a 5-0 lead shortly before halftime – her low shot took a deflection inside the far post giving the wrong-footed Tompkins no chance.

After the break, Jahansouz made a brilliant save to deny Colorado off of a corner kick before Greubel made it 6-0 shortly thereafter in the 51st minute. DiBiasi gained possession outside the Buffaloes' area, reversing a perfectly-weighted ball into the path of Greubel, who tapped home past Scout Watson. Macario's curled shot from 20 yards in the 71st minute wrapped up Stanford's highest goal output of the season to put a cap on a 9-0-1 regular season at home.

Stanford outshot Colorado 20-8, including a 14-3 advantage in shots on goal, with Kuhlmann pacing the team with seven shots. Stanford's shutout streak reaches 461:52 minutes, having not conceded a goal since Sept. 27.

Prior to kickoff, Stanford honored its five graduating seniors – Averie Collins, Alana Cook, Jordan DiBiasi, Tegan McGrady and Michelle Xiao.

"This class has meant so much to our program for four seasons, and they showed it today with a 7-0 win on Senior Day," said Ratcliffe.

No. 1 Stanford's four remaining regular-season contests are on the road, starting Thursday when the Cardinal visits Washington at 5 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. kickoff at Washington State on Sunday. Both games will air on Pac-12 Networks with live statistics available at GoStanford.com.
