STANFORD, Calif. – Freshman Jackson Seybold was voted the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Newcomer of the Week on Monday.
The Cardinal freshman scored four goals in Stanford's victories over No. 7 Pacific and No. 20 Wagner last week. Seybold posted his third hat trick of the season in the 19-4 victory over Wagner last Friday. He added a first-quarter score in Sunday's win over Pacific.
Seybold leads all freshmen and is fifth on the team in scoring overall with 23 goals on the year.
Stanford is 15-1 overall and ranked No. 2 in the nation in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association poll.
It's the third time a Cardinal has been recognized by the conference this season. Senior Oliver Lewis (Sept. 24) and sophomore Ben Hallock (Oct. 8) were each honored as the MPSF Player of the Week earlier this season.
Stanford returns to action Saturday against No. 9 UC Davis at noon at Avery Aquatic Center.
