Pickett Picks up Honor

STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore defender Kiki Pickett was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday.

Pickett, a native of Santa Barbara, California, scored and had one assist in Stanford's 7-0 rout of previously undefeated Colorado on Sunday while contributing to two shutouts on the week. Pickett's goal, the second of her career, made it 4-0 in the 35th minute on Sunday.

After collecting the ball near the halfway line, Pickett charged into space up the right flank before executing a superb one-two with Madison Haley and slotting inside the far post. In defense, Pickett has helped Stanford go 477:51 minutes without conceding a goal – the Cardinal's last goal allowed was on Sept. 27.

No. 1 Stanford continues Pac-12 play this week when it travels to face Washington on Thursday and Washington State on Sunday. The Cardinal (14-0-1, 7-0-0 Pac-12) sits atop the conference table with four games to go.
