The Tournament
Stanford makes it fourth consecutive appearance in the prestigious and nationally-televised event, limited to women's and men's semifinalists from the 2018 NCAA Championships.  

The Field
Eight teams, with the women's field comprised of No. 1 USC, No. 9 Alabama, No. 14 Arizona and No. 15 Stanford. The men's field consists of No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 2 Duke, No. 4 Alabama and No. 20 Auburn.  
 
The Format
Following the format of the NCAA Championship, the first round is stroke play and will determine an individual champion and establish seeding for match-play on Tuesday and Wednesday. The semifinals will be contested on Tuesday, followed by the championship match and consolation championship on Wednesday.

Cardinal Contingent
Junior Andrea Lee, junior Albane Valenzuela, sophomore Mika Liu, junior Ziyi Wang and freshman Aline Krauter. 

Tee times
One member of each school will be play together on Monday. Krauter leads off the Cardinal at 10:55 a.m. ET, followed by Liu (11:07 a.m.), Wang (11:19 a.m.), Valenzuela (11:31 a.m.) and Lee (11:43 a.m.). 

TV Coverage
All three days will be shown live on the Golf Channel from 3-6 p.m ET. Live streaming is also available from 3-6 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel app.  
 
The Forecast
The weather Monday should be sunny with a high of 69 degrees. On Tuesday, it will be mostly sunny with a high of 
 72, and on Wednesday it will be partly cloudy with a high of 77. Light wind is predicted all three days.

Last Year
Stanford earned the No. 1 seed in stroke play competition at East Lake in 2017 for the second consecutive year with best four-out-of-five total of 3-over 291. Four Cardinal players collected top-10 finishes, paced by Shannon Aubert and Lee, who shared second with 1-under 71's. Valenzuela posted seventh and Wang was ninth.

In match play, Stanford defeated Arizona State, 3-2, in the semifinals, and fell to USC, 3-2, in the championship match.

Strong Showing
Last week, the Cardinal finished second behind USC in the 17-team Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Condoleezza Rice at Stanford Golf Course. Valenzuela led the way in her first fall event by placing third with rounds of 67-69-70. The Cardinal shot even-par as a team.
 
The Course
The oldest course in Atlanta, East Lake Golf Club is the home of legendary Hall of Famer Bobby Jones and annually hosts the Tour Championship, the last event of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Playoffs. This year's winner was Stanford alum Tiger Woods, who collected his 80th PGA Tour title. East Lake was also site of the 1950 U.S. Women's Amateur, the 1963 Ryder Cup and 2001 U.S. Amateur.
