STANFORD, Calif. – Top-ranked Stanford was honored by the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday with the College Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 season.
A total of 773 collegiate teams (484 women, 289 men) posted a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher to earn the award. Stanford was one of 191 school to have both its women's and men's programs recognized.
The Cardinal's 2017-18 team posted a 3.48 cumulative GPA, the second-highest among Pac-12 schools. Stanford has earned the recognition each of the past six years and eight of the past nine.

Last season, Michelle Xiao was honored with the NCAA's Elite 90 Award, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the College Cup. A biomechianical engineering major from Omaha, Nebraska, Xiao was joined by Alison Jahansouz on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 first team. Xiao was also named CoSIDA first-team Academic All-America.
Thirteen Cardinal were picked for the Pac-12 All-Academic team, led by Xiao on the first team. Jaye Boissiere, Kyra Carusa, Averie Collins, Alana Cook, Tierna Davidson, Jordan DiBiasi, Beattie Goad, Jahansouz, Mariah Lee, Carly Malatskey, Tegan McGrady and Andi Sullivan were each named honorable mention.
