BOSTON, Mass. - Stanford sailing finished fifth at the Coed Showcase semifinals on the Charles River over the weekend behind a first-place finish from junior skipper Jacob Rosenberg and senior crew Kathryn Booker in the B division.

Stanford finished with 203 points, which was just three shy of third-place, while Brown won the regatta with a score of 182. The Cardinal advanced to the Coed Showcase Finals in St. Mary's City, Maryland, Oct. 20-21.

After a slow start, Rosenberg and Booker finished six points better than the rest of their division. The duo was in 11th place with 49 points after the first five races, but finished outside the top five just once the rest of the way and accumulated just 37 points over the final 11 races. That included two first-place finishes, including the final race, which helped them leap over Brown for top B division honors.

In the A division, sophomore Jack Parkin and junior Taylor Kirkpatrick were sixth with 117 points. They posted five top-five finishes, including three second-place showings.

Next weekend, the Cardinal is slated for the Stoney Burke in San Fransciso and the Captain Hurst Bowl in Hanover, N.H.
