Duo Honored

STANFORD, Calif. – Senior Amir Bashti and graduate student Collin Liberty have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's Soccer team, selected by CoSIDA, which recognizes the top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom, it was announced Thursday.
  
Bashti, a forward from Cupertino, California, posted a 3.45 grade point average in science, technology and society. A Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention choice in 2016 and 2017, he made the 2018 Preseason All-Pac-12 team and was chosen Pac-12 Player of the Week on September 18 and October 2.
 
Bashti has played in all 17 games and leads the Cardinal in scoring with 20 points. He ranks second on the squad with seven goals and first in assists with six, both career highs. His 20 points are the fifth-most in the conference.

Liberty, a defenseman from Van Nuys, California, earned a 3.75 grade point average in sanagement science and Engineering. In 2017, he was Pac-12 All-Academic First Team. Liberty has appeared in 14 games this season and has contributed two assists.
 
No. 6 Stanford (11-2-4, 7-1-1 Pac-12) concludes its regular season by hosting Cal (6-9-2, 2-7-0) on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Cagan Stadium. The Cardinal has already clinched a share of its fifth consecutive conference crown.
