Zanolli Tabbed All-American

2018 NFHCA All-Americans Opens in a new window

After capturing America East Offensive Player of the Year, and a second consecutive first-team All-Region selection, sophomore Corinne Zanolli can now add All-American to her list of accomplishments after earning Longstreth/NFHCA second-team honors on Tuesday morning.

The All-American selection is the first for the Cardinal since current junior Kelsey Bing and Caroline Beaudoin nabbed third-team selections in 2016.

Following up a freshman campaign that netted America East Rookie of the Year in 2017, Zanolli posted 26 goals as a sophomore this season to rank second in the nation. The native of Newtown Square, Pa. totaled 59 points, teaming her 26 goals with seven assists, while placing 60 of her 84 shots on frame.

Stanford (14-6, 5-1 America East) came up short in its bid for a third consecutive America East Conference title, falling in the semifinal round for the first time since 2015. The Cardinal, which has qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 10 of the last 12 seasons, also produced at least 13 victories for the 10th straight year. A top-25 fixture the entire year, Stanford locked up the top seed in the America East Championship after dominating the all-conference awards with the Offensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Co-Goalkeeper of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year.

Next on the NFHCA postseason award schedule is the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I National Collegiate Player of the Year award, which will be announced on December 10. Academic awards will then be announced in March 2019.
