Cardinal Tabbed to East Lake Cup

STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford women's golf team was selected to compete in the East Lake Cup, as announced recently by the Golf Channel.

The event will be contested at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta from Oct. 29-31.

Stanford is one of four top-tier programs chosen for this marquee event, joining reigning national champion Arizona, Alabama and USC.

The Cardinal earned its invitation by advancing to the semifinals of the NCAA Women's Golf Championship this past May.

USC won the 2017 edition of the East Lake Cup, outlasting Stanford in the final match.

The East Lake Cup is a three-day event, following the same format as the final three days of the NCAA Golf Championships. The first round will consist of the teams competing in individual stroke play to determine the seeding for two days of match play on Tuesday and Wednesday.

East Lake Golf Club is the oldest golf club in the city of Atlanta. It is the permanent home of the Tour Championship, which is the final event in the FedEx Cup playoff of the PGA Tour.
