Cardinal Aces Oaks

STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford men's volleyball team put on a serving clinic in its 25-12, 25-14, 25-16 sweep over Menlo College, Friday, at Burnham Pavilion.
 
Stanford registered 16 aces as a team, doubling its best outing as a team from 2018. Eight different Cardinal tallied at least one ace, led by junior outside hitter Eric Beatty's four and junior setter Paul Bischoff's three.
 
As a team, Stanford hit .466 in the match, including an .800 clip in the opening set. The Cardinal finished with 6.0 blocks and 14 digs. Menlo College was held to a .145 attack percentage and a match sideout rate of 41 percent.
 
Sophomore opposite Jaylen Jasper led all players with a career-high .733 attack percentage, totaling 12 kills on 15 swings with just one error. He also had three blocks, three digs and an ace in the win.
 

 
Bischoff started the match at setter, racking up 18 assists in two sets. Senior Russell Dervay took over in the third, dishing out 13 assists. Fifth-year senior Kyle Dagostino got the start at libero and led all players with five digs.
 
Senior outside hitter Jordan Ewert finished with seven kills on .308 hitting, three digs and two aces, while Beatty added four kills, three digs and two blocks. Junior Eli Wopat had five kills on .375 hitting coming off the bench in the third set.
 
Junior Stephen Moye and sophomore Kyler Presho were the starting middles for the Cardinal. Moye registered three kills, two blocks and two aces in two sets played, while Presho was 2-0-2 (1.000) with three blocks and two aces.
 

 
Menlo College was led by sophomore outside hitter Akash Dhothar's six kills, while sophomore Collin Jordan added five kills and two digs.
 
Stanford is back in action Saturday night against UC Santa Cruz. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Maples Pavilion. Admission is free.
