Three Straight Shutouts

STANFORD, Calif. - No. 1 Stanford notched its third consecutive shutout on Thursday afternoon, blanking Princeton 7-0 at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Hosting its third match in six days, Stanford (3-0) quickly locked up the doubles point and ripped off three straight singles matches before posting seven wins across the board.

Leading 1-0, Emily Arbuthnott and Emma Higuchi delivered straight-set victories to put the Cardinal on the brink of clinching.

Caroline Lampl then made it official with a 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot.

Thursday's match represented a homecoming for Princeton head coach Laura Granville, a two-time NCAA singles champion who guided the Cardinal to the 2001 NCAA championship and won 58 consecutive singles matches during her time on The Farm.

Meanwhile, Stanford's match against UC Davis on Saturday has been postponed due to expected rain in the forecast. At this time, a make-up date has not been determined.
