STANFORD, Calif. -- After tallying a program-high 17 wins to close out last season, Stanford beach volleyball will begin its 2019 campaign ranked 11th in the preseason poll, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The Cardinal is up six spots from the 2018 preseason rankings.
 
Ranked among the top 20 are four other Pac-12 schools, with UCLA and USC earning No. 1 and 2 rankings respectively, and California landing just behind Stanford at No. 12. UCLA remains No. 1 after claiming the crown at the NCAA Championship and their first Pac-12 title, going 4-0 at the Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship hosted by Stanford.
 
The Cardinal kicks off its season next weekend in Hawai'i at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic with matches against the top-ranked Bruins, Pepperdine, Saint Mary's and Hawai'.
 
Stanford's 2019 spring schedule features 10 home events at the Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium and five matches to be broadcasted on the Pac-12 Networks.
 
To close out the regular season, Stanford will travel to Los Angeles to compete in the Pac-12 Championship, hosted by USC.
