STANFORD, Calif. - Splitting a pair of games on Saturday from the DeMarini Invitational and Smith Family Field, Stanford (6-2) suffered a 5-0 shutout at the hands of Colorado State (5-1). Saturday marks the first time this year that the Card has been blanked.
Jessica Jarecki tossed the complete-game shutout for the Rams, allowing just four hits with four strikeouts and no walks to improve to 3-0 on the year and drop her ERA to a stingy .33.
Maddy Dwyer got the start and took the loss opposite Jarecki, allowing three unearned runs on five hits while striking out three over 2.1 innings of work. The decision dropped Dwyer to 3-1 on the year.
Offensively, Kristina Inouye accounted for half of Stanford's hits, going 2-for-3 while batting out of the fifth spot in the order.
Kiana Pancino and freshman Molly Millar both provided a few bright spots in the circle for Stanford. Pancino dealt three scoreless innings with two strikeouts, while Millar stranded the bases loaded after taking over in the sixth in her collegiate debut.

Corina Gamboa led the offense for Colorado State, batting 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. With Colorado State already leading 3-0 headed into the seventh, Gamboa delivered two insurance runs with a single into centerfield to cap her strong night.
The Rams got on the board first in the third inning, plating three runs on four hits, including a two-out, two-RBI single with the bases loaded from Isabella Navarro.
Stanford is not scheduled to play any more games from the DeMarini Invitational. The Card will return to action on February 21 when it travels to Baton Rouge, La. for the LSU Invitational.
