STANFORD, Calif. – No. 24 Stanford posted a season-high on balance beam and equaled its best on floor but could not catch No. 12 Washington on Friday night in Maples Pavilion.
The Cardinal scored 49.075 on beam and 49.175 in floor exercise, led by sophomore Kyla Bryant's career-best tying 9.925 in the final routine of the evening. She won her fifth consecutive all-around crown of the season, sharing top honors with Evanni Roberson of the Huskies with 39.300.
Once again, Stanford received many strong showings. Bryant also captured titles on bars (9.850) and floor, while sophomore Rachael Flam (9.850) claimed first on vault.
Senior Taryn Fitzgerald and freshman Wesley Stephenson shared second on beam with 9.825, junior Aleeza Yu took second on vault (9.825) and frosh Morgan Hoang tied for second on floor (9.875).
"Last meet (UCLA) we did a really good job at the start of the meet and then had a little trouble on beam," said head coach Tabitha Yim. "This week, it flipflopped. Those little mistakes add up."
Yim had praise for every team member, singling out Flam, junior Kaylee Cole, Fitzgerald, Hoang, senior Hailee Hoffman and Yu.

"Rachael's vault was absolutely flawless," said Yim. "Morgan did a great on beam (exhibition) and was so solid for her first time. Kaylee was dynamite leading off again."

Stanford resumes competition on February 10th in a 3 p.m. PT meet at Arizona State. It will be televised by Pac-12 Network.
