IRVINE, Calif. – No. 2 Stanford scored the game's first eight goals and beat No. 10 Pacific in the quarterfinals of the Barbara Kalbus Invitational, 14-3, on Saturday morning.
 
The Cardinal (9-0) will face No. 3 UCLA in a semifinal tonight at 5:15 p.m. The winner of that will face the winner of No. 1 USC and No. 4 Cal in the tournament championship tomorrow at 1 p.m. The third-place game will take place just prior at 11:30 a.m.
 
Stanford scored just twice in the first quarter, an even-strength strike from Makenzie Fischer at 6:13 and a 6-on-5 tally from Kat Klass at 2:00, but poured in five in the second to widen the gap.
 
A pair of freshmen, Chloe Harbilas (7:27) and Ryann Neushul (5:42), sandwiched goals around a score from senior Madison Berggren (6:04). Stanford nabbed its sixth when Kayla Constandse rattles the cage with just under three minutes remaining until the half and Klass collected her second of the game with 49 seconds on the clock.
 
Harbilas would score again coming out of the break at 7:32 in the third before Pacific got its first goal from Mariana Duarte at 7:17. The Cardinal closed the quarter with three straight from Sarah Klass (5:40), Kat Klass (5:01) and Cassidy Wiley (0:38) and led 11-1 after 24 minutes.
 
Stanford had a 3-2 edge over the Tigers in the final frame. Pacific scored the first two, but the Cardinal closed out the win with three goals in the final four minutes from Madison Stamen (3:43), Constandse (2:57) and Lauren Indart (1:09).
