Feeling Twenty-Two

STANFORD, Calif. - Sporting a 16-2 overall record and a 10-game win streak, Stanford has entered the national rankings this week, checking in at No. 22 according to Softball America.

The Cardinal owns a national ranking for the first time since April 1, 2014 when it was No. 24 according to both the NFCA and USA Softball. Stanford's 10-game win streak is the longest since the 2014 squad began the year 13-0, while the 16-2 start is the best since 2009 (29-1).

Softball America was launched earlier this year and is the sister publication of Baseball America, which has chronicled the future of America's pastime for nearly 40 years and is known to those in the industry as "the bible of baseball."

Stanford is also receiving votes this week in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll and the USA Softball Poll. This mark the second consecutive week that the Card has garnered votes in the Coaches Poll.

The Cardinal is preparing to welcome Sacramento State to campus on Wednesday for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. Stanford will then host the Cardinal Classic, featuring Bucknell, UMass Lowell and UNLV, this weekend.
