FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - At the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships this week, four Stanford women and two men qualified for the NCAA Championships.
On the men's side, freshman Conor Casey and freshman Noah Vigran each qualified in all multiple events. Casey is NCAA eligible on both springboards after he won the men's 1-meter title on Monday, and finished third on the 3-meter on Tuesday. Vigran will compete in all three events at NCAA's as he won the platform, finished as runner-up on the 3-meter and finished fifth on the 1-meter.
For the women's team, freshman Carolina Sculti qualified in all three events, while sophomore Mia Paulsen (3-meter, platform), junior Haley Farnsworth (1-meter) and freshman Daria Lenz (1-meter, platform) also qualified for the NCAA meet.
In the men's 1-meter finals, Casey claimed the top spot with a score of 689.70, while Vigran finished with a fifth-place score of 632.35. Vigran won the platform with a score of 734.00 and was the runner-up on the 3-meter with a score of 732.35, while Casey was third on the 3-meter with a score of 710.65.
Sculti earned an NCAA spot in every event as one of the top eight finishers at each height. On the 1-meter, she was was fifth with a score of 564.50. On the 3-meter, she was third with a score of 651.55, and on the platform she was the runner-up with a score of 522.70.
Lenz is eligible for nationals on the 1-meter after a fourth-place showing (573.35), and the platform, where she also placed fourth (517.60).
Paulsen finished in a tie for seventh on the 3-meter at 593.40 and was fifth on the platform with a score of 502.80.
Farnsworth hit the qualifying mark on the 1-meter with an eighth-place finish and score of 559.45.
The two-time defending national champion women's team is at the NCAA roster limit and will have to select which swimmers and divers to bring to the NCAA Championships, March 20-23.
Both national championship meets will take place in Austin, Texas, as the men are set to compete March 27-30.
