CHARLESTON, S.C. - Stanford sailing finished among the top two for the fifth straight regatta with a runner-up performance at the Bob Bavier Team Race over the weekend.
Stanford finished second with a record of 16-3, just one race behind Yale, which finished atop the standings with a 17-2 mark. College of Charleston served as host and was third overall with a record of 13-6.
Stanford was led by skipper Jacob Rosenberg and crew Kathryn Booker, as well as skipper Jack Parkin and crew Taylor Kirkpatrick, and skipper Romain Screve who paired with crew Sammy Pickell and Meg Gerli.
The Cardinal finished undefeated on the first day of competition. Stanford was 8-0 in the round robin, and nearly went unblemished in round two aside from a loss to Yale.
The top four raced on a foggy Sunday in Charleston Harbor as Stanford defeated Harvard, but lost to Yale (3-4-6) and Charleston (3-4-5) to finish second overall.
In total, Stanford won all three matchups with Harvard and each race against South Florida, Jacksonville, Georgetown, George Washington and Eckerd.
This marked the third team race of the Spring as Stanford finished second at Tulane's Nelson Roltsch Team Race, Feb. 16-17, and first as hosts of the McIntyre Team Race, Feb. 23-24.
Next up for the Cardinal is the Navy Women's in Annapolis, Maryland, and the St. Mary's Team Race, March 9-10.
