GOLD RIVER, Calif. – In the first day of the Lake Natoma Invitational, No. 3 Stanford won all nine of its races.
Stanford began the morning session with races against Sacramento State and Gonzaga. The Cardinal's first and second varsity four and eight boats all won their respective races by at least 10 seconds.
For the afternoon session, Stanford raced a third varsity eight boat against its rival, the No. 2 California Golden Bears. The Cardinal finished the course with a time of 6:42.6 to Cal's 6:50.3.
The Cardinal's first varsity four and its first and second varsity eight boats also competed in afternoon races, but against different opponents. All three of Stanford's boats finished ahead of No. 12 USC and Tulsa.
Stanford returns to Lake Natoma for day two of the invite on Sunday with morning races against No. 2 Cal and No. 6 Brown.
