TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 7 Arizona capitalized on three home runs to defeat No. 24 Stanford, 7-0, Thursday, in the series opener at Rita Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium.

Arizona (36-7) remains undefeated in the Pac-12 Conference at 13-0 and extended its winning streak to 18 games. Stanford (30-8, 7-3 Pac-12) was held to just three hits on the evening.

The Wildcats scored all seven of their runs off of home runs. Arizona leads the nation with 84 home runs on the season.

Junior third baseman Kristina Inouye was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles to lead the Cardinal. Junior Teaghan Cowles also had a base-hit for Stanford.

Sophomore pitcher Maddy Dwyer earned the start in the circle, allowing seven runs on six hits in 4.2 innings of work. The sophomore drops to 11-5 overall.

Dwyer held the Wildcats scoreless and hitless through two frames. Arizona second baseman Reyna Carranco hit a three-run shot to right field to give the Wildcats a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third.

Arizona tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth as designated player Hillary Edior hit a solo home run to left center field.

Arizona catcher Dejah Mulipola drove in the final three runs as she belted the ball over the left field fence in the fifth inning.

Stanford junior Nikki Bauer took over in the circle in the bottom of the fifth, registering the Cardinal's lone strikeout of the game on Edior to extend the contest.

Stanford and Arizona will meet again on Friday. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. from Hillenbrand Stadium.
