GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Stanford competed in day one of the WIRA Championships on Saturday, and had four boats that qualified for the Grand Finals which will take place on Sunday.
Stanford's varsity eight placed first and its second varsity eight placed second in their respective heats. The Cardinal's double also placed first in its heat to advance to the grand final tomorrow.
With only one final for the varsity four, Stanford's boat raced a preliminary heat today, coming in sixth place.
Lastly, in the novice four, the Cardinal placed fifth in its heat and did not make the grand or petite final.
Racing continues for Stanford tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. with the varsity eight grand final. The second varsity eight final will take place at 9:40 a.m., the varsity four final at 10:30 a.m. and the double at 11:50 a.m.
