FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – No. 7 Stanford concluded the second round at NCAA Championships in sixth place, four strokes ahead of the cut line heading into Monday's final round of stroke play. The Cardinal is 20-over (604) overall after shooting an 8-over (300) in the second round at Blessings Golf Club.

"It was a two-part second round for us," Margot and Mitch Milias Director of Women's Golf Anne Walker said. "We had the first 12 holes which I was really pleased with. I think we were playing great, everyone had some good momentum, and then we got stopped in our tracks. We came out today, faced a very challenging change in wide direction and played some of the toughest holes on the golf course straight into the wind. I think we were six over on those holes. It's not the way we would've liked to play those, but it is what it is.

"Now we have to be ready to come out tomorrow and hopefully put up a number. We have great players, so we're going to prepare, and I think if they're prepared, we have as good a chance as anyone."

The second round was suspended due to weather on Saturday, with the Cardinal having completed between 12 and 15 holes. Sunday morning's conditions were difficult on the course, but the Cardinal maintained its positioning heading into the final round of stroke play on Monday.

Albane Valenzuela is tied for sixth at 1-over for the tournament. She bogeyed her first two holes on Sunday, before a birdie on 15 and three pars to close her round. Aline Krauter sits at 4-over and is in a tie for 19th.

After a tough first round, Andrea Lee had five birdies in the second round and is tied for 33rd at 6-over. Both Ziyi Wang and Mika Liu ate 10-over through the first two rounds.

The top eight teams following Monday's round will advance to match play, which begins with the quarterfinals on Tuesday morning. The Cardinal's third round will begin at 11:55 a.m. CT/9:55 a.m. PT on Monday off the first tee and they'll be paired with Arizona and Arkansas, who are tied for fourth.
