NCAA's Up Ahead

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford will compete in its 11th consecutive NCAA Championships on Friday, May 31st through Sunday, June 2nd in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Cardinal will race its varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four boats in the championship regatta. All three of these boats earned Stanford its second place finish at the Pac-12 Championships just two weeks ago.

Racing begins for Stanford early on Friday morning, when the varsity eight competes in Heat 3 at 6:24 a.m. PT against Rhode Island, Rutgers, Michigan, Harvard and Marist. Last year, the Cardinal's top boat finished fourth overall and earned Stanford its fourth place finish at the Championship.

Stanford's second varsity eight boat, ranked as the No. 3 seed, will race at 7:12 a.m., racing in Heat 3 alongside Iowa, Duke, Texas, Wisconsin and Marist. Stanford's varsity four will follow at 7:48 a.m. in Heat 2, facing Navy, Yale, Duke and UCF.

The top two boats in each heat will advance directly into Saturday's A/B semifinals in each boat. Boats that finish outside the top two in their Friday morning heats will race in Friday afternoon's repechage to determine their position in Saturday's semifinal races.

Sunday will mark the final day of racing, with Grand, Petite, C and D Finals all scheduled for each boat.

The NCAA Championships can be streamed on the NCAA website for the entirety of the regatta. Live results will also be available here.
