LOS ANGELES – The Pac-12 Conference unveiled the Preseason Pac-12 All-Conference team on Wednesday morning to kick off media day in Hollywood. The preseason team and poll were voted upon by the league's media. Four Cardinal were named to the first team – TE Colby Parkinson, OL Walker Little, DB Paulson Adebo and K Jet Toner. QB K.J. Costello was picked to the second team while DL Thomas Booker and DL Jovan Swann were honorable mention.
TE Colby Parkinson was named to the John Mackey Award watch list earlier this offseason for the nation's best tight end. He was honorable mention All-Pac-12 last season after registering seven touchdowns – third most among tight ends in 2018. Against Oregon State on Nov. 10, he tied a single-game school record with four touchdown catches. He has 39 career receptions for 582 yards and 11 touchdowns.
OL Walker Little was first-team All-Pac-12 last season after earning Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Co-Player of the Year honors in 2017. He became the first Cardinal true freshman to start at left tackle since Kirk Chambers in 2000. So far this preseason he has been named a first team preseason All-American by Sporting News, Athlon and Phil Steele.
DB Paulson Adebo was named second-team All-America by the FWAA a season ago, the youngest Cardinal defensive player to earn FWAA All-America recognition and the only Stanford sophomore to make the list. He led the country with a school-record 20 pass breakups and 24 passes defended. Adebo has been named to the watch lists of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, Bednarik Award, Jim Thorpe Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
K Jet Toner has earned All-Pac-12 honors in each of the last two seasons. Last season he made 14-of-15 field goals and all 34 extra point attempts. As a sophomore in 2017, he converted 21-of-26 field goal attempts and all 54 PATs. He has been named first team All-Pac-12 by Athlon and Phil Steele so far this summer.
QB K.J. Costello was an All-Pac-12 second team honoree last season after passing for 3,540 yards and 29 touchdowns. He passed for 300 yards in seven games and led the Pac-12 in passing efficiency (155.0) and yards per attempt (8.57). He has been named to the Maxwell Award and Davey O'Brien Award watch lists so far this summer.
DL Thomas Booker was named to the Pacific Takes Pac-12 All-Freshman team a season ago and was named to 247Sports True Freshman All-America team. He played in all 13 games and made three starts, finishing fourth on the team with 3.5 sacks. He was named Phil Steele Preseason All-Pac-12 second team earlier this summer.
DL Jovan Swann was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention a season ago after playing in all 13 games with 10 starts. He finished with 28 tackles, seven tackles for loss and was second on the team with 4.5 sacks. Earlier this summer he was named preseason All-Pac-12 third team by Athlon.
Additionally, the Cardinal were picked to finish third in the North Division by the media, behind Oregon and Washington.
