STANFORD, Calif. - Clashing with No. 30 Mexico to open play at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru on Monday, the No. 13 U.S. Women's National Field Hockey Team, featuring Stanford's Kelsey Bing in goal, captured a 5-0 shutout victory.
Bing faced just two shots over the course of the contest, both coming on penalty corners, as Team USA controlled the pace of the game in a dominant effort.

Five different U.S. players scored goals, including the opening tally from Danielle Grega to hand the Americans the 1-0 cushion at halftime. Amanda Magadan opened the scoring in the second half, tipping in a shot off the post from Kathleen Sharkey. Lauren Moyer and Erin Matson added goals three and four, respectively, before Ashley Hoffman buried a penalty stroke goal to run the tally to its eventual final of 5-0.
Continuing preliminary play from the 2019 Pan American Games, the U.S. Women's National Team will face No. 15 Chile on Wednesday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
