Carroll on Canada’s Junior World Championship Roster

STANFORD, Calif. – Freshman Floranne Carroll has been named to Canada's roster for the FINA Women's Junior World Championship from Sept. 9-15 in Funchal, Portugal.

Canada is in Group D with China, New Zealand and Greece and is scheduled to start the tournament against China on September 9 at 10:40 a.m. PT.

Carroll recently returned from two weeks of sports diplomacy with the current Cardinal team in Chengdu, China and the Tibetan Plateau of Sichuan Province. She also was part of Canada's fourth-place effort at the 2019 FISU Summer Universiade in Naples, Italy in mid-July.

From Montreal, Carroll attended College Marianopolis and competed for the CAMO club program. She claimed three national titles – twice at the 19-and-under level and once as a senior – in three years with her club team. Carroll was a member of Team Canada's 2018 Junior Pan American Championship team in Florida and joined the Canadian Senior National Team in New Zealand for the 2018 FINA Intercontinental Cup. In January, she won gold at the 2019 UANA Cup in Sao Paulo, Brazil and scored in the final against Cuba.

The United States roster for the FINA Junior World Championship features Sarah Klass, Ryann Neushul and Hannah Constandse as an alternate.
