STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 13 U.S. Women's National Team met No. 18 Canada to see which team would advance to the gold medal match of the 2019 Pan American Games, with Canada, featuring former Stanford player Maddie Secco, prevailing by way of a 2-0 victory. After scoring a goal late in the first quarter, and adding a second off the stick of Secco in the third, Canada managed to keep the Americans off the board en route to the shutout.

Stanford senior Kelsey Bing and Team USA will now take on No. 15 Chile on Friday, August 9 at 1:00 p.m. PT in the bronze medal match. Secco and Team Canada will then compete for gold against Argentina at 3:15 p.m. PT.

The U.S. defeated Chile, 4-2, earlier at the Pan American Games, while Canada suffered a 3-0 setback to Argentina in the preliminary rounds.
