STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's run at defending its national championship will begin on January 11 as the Cardinal visits California for the Cal Benefit Cup to open a 2020 slate that features three home meets.
The Cardinal will host the Stanford Open (January 25) featuring Cal and 2019 NCAA national runner-up Oklahoma, an International Collegiate Open (February 29) and a Pac-12-televised meet against Cal (March 14) in Maples Pavilion to round out the home slate.
The International Collegiate Open is shaping up to be one of the more highly-anticipated meets, as national teams from Japan and Norway will join individuals from the USA, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary and Canada in a meet that will also feature the Cardinal and Golden Bears.
After opening the season at the Cal Benefit Cup, the Cardinal will send gymnasts to Chicago, Ill. to participate at the Windy City Invitational on January 18. The Pac-12 Invite and ASU Invite are scheduled for February 2 and February 8, respectively, while the Cardinal will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. to meet Air Force on March 7.
Following the televised meet against the Golden Bears on March 14, the Cardinal will make another trip to Colorado Springs on April 4 for the MPSF Championships – the final tune-up before looking to defend its national title at the NCAA Championships from April 17-18 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
