Stanford Sweeps Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Behind a balanced attack, No. 3 Stanford swept Oregon State, 25-12, 25-21, 27-25, Saturday, at Gill Coliseum.
 
Stanford (9-3, 3-1 Pac-12) hit .275 as a team and held Oregon State (8-7, 2-2 Pac-12) to a .117 clip. The Cardinal registered 12.0 blocks and out dug the Beavers 58-48. Stanford is now a perfect 69-0 all-time against Oregon State.
 
The Cardinal was without senior outside hitter Kathryn Plummer for the second straight match. Senior opposite Audriana Fitzmorris notched 12 kills on .333 hitting, while freshman outside hitter Kendall Kipp also tallied 12 kills to lead the team.
 
Senior Jenna Gray recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 38 assists and 10 digs. The setter also posted five blocks. Senior libero Morgan Hentz finished with a match-best 21 digs.
 
Junior Meghan McClure was on fire early and finished with 10 kills on .259 hitting, eight digs and three blocks. Senior middle blocker Madeleine Gates had nine kills on 20 errorless swings to hit .450. She also had a match-high seven blocks.
 
Senior defensive specialist Caitlin Keefe started for the second consecutive night and finished with seven digs. Junior Kate Formico chipped in with four digs, while sophomore Holly Campbell had four blocks and two kills.
 
Oregon State was led by Amy Underdown's 11 kills, while libero Grace Massey racked up 18 digs.
 
The Cardinal returns to The Farm next week to play host to Arizona and Arizona State. Both matches will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
