- Thursday's meeting is the second all-time between the schools, with the Cardinal prevailing 87-64 back on Dec. 4, 1987 in the Apple Invitational at Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal is opening its season with six straight home games for the first time since 2006.
- Having already matched its first 5-0 start since 2011, Stanford is now chasing its first 6-0 start since 2008, when the Cardinal opened the season with 10 consecutive nonconference wins before Pac-12 play. The Cardinal has recorded only one other five-game winning streak (Jan. 4-17, 2018) under head coach Jerod Haase. During that span, Stanford swept UCLA and USC home, swept Washington State and Washington on the road and tacked on a home win against Arizona State.
- In addition to forcing 17.4 turnovers per game, Stanford has surrendered 65 points or fewer over a five-game stretch for the first time since January 2011. The Cardinal has allowed 58.6 points - a total which ranks second in the Pac-12 - while limiting opponents to 39.0 percent shooting overall and 29.8 percent from three-point territory.
- Tyrell Terry has been dynamic while igniting the offense, becoming the first Cardinal player to score in double figures in each of his first five career games since at least 1996. Terry is averaging 14.0 points while shooting 48.1 percent overall and 94.1 percent (16-17) from the charity stripe. Terry is also the first D-I player with at least 10 points and two steals in each of his first five career games since Oklahoma’s Trae Young in 2017 (seven straight).
- Picking up where he left off in 2018-19, Oscar da Silva has emerged as Stanford’s top scorer (16.2 ppg) and rebounder (5.6 rpg). Posting the fifth double-double of his career on Nov. 16 in a win over Santa Clara, da Silva is shooting 58.7 percent overall and has reached double figures in scoring every game. He has been the Cardinal’s most frequent visitor to the foul line, making 26-32 for 81.3 percent. da Silva enters the season as Stanford’s leading returning scorer and rebounder.
- Stanford is coming off a 76-55 win over Maryland Eastern Shore, led by Jaiden Delaire's career-high 21 points.
