First True Road Game

  • With final exams in the books, Stanford returns to the court for the first time in 13 days. It’s the second of five December games for the Cardinal, which played eight contests during the month of November.
  • Stanford is off to its best start since 2011, when the Cardinal also won eight of its first nine games. The Cardinal’s seven-game winning streak to begin the season was its longest since a 10-0 start in 2008. Last season, Stanford won its eighth game on Jan. 12 and ninth game on Jan. 19.
  • Stanford will be playing its first true road game of the season on Saturday. It’s the latest Stanford has played a true road game since 2012, when the Cardinal visited NC State on Dec. 18.
  • Stanford has held its first nine opponents to under 70 points, representing the first time the Cardinal has accomplished the feat since a 10-game stretch from Dec. 28, 2010-Jan. 29, 2011. Stanford has allowed 57.7 points per game - a total which leads the Pac-12 and ranks 14th in the country - while limiting opponents to 39.7 percent shooting overall and 31.3 percent from three-point territory. Stanford has also forced 16.1 turnovers per game.
  • Stanford’s eight victories have all come by double digits, including three 20-point wins and a season-best 31-point triumph over William & Mary on Nov. 21. The Cardinal’s +17.9 scoring margin ranks second in the Pac-12 and eighth in the nation. Stanford finished with 10 double-digit wins overall in 2018-19.
