Another Rookie of the Week

STANFORD, Calif. - Freshman Brody Malone captured his third College Gymnastics Association Rookie of the Week selection of the year on Tuesday night. The native of Summerville, Ga. earned the selection after winning the all-around title at Stanford's International Collegiate Open last weekend.

Competing against gymnasts from California and World Champion Japan, Malone captured his third all-around title of the year by way of an 84.100. The night was highlighted by a career-best 14.750 in the high bar to win the event title. Malone would also finish second in the vault (14.550), and sixth in rings (14.050) and pommel horse (13.800).

Malone enters this week ranked first in the nation in all-around with an NQA of 84.283. He is also second in the high bar (14.200) and seventh in parallel bars (14.167).

Malone and No. 2 Stanford will resume competition on March 2 in Champaign, Ill., when it faces No. 5 Minnesota and No. 6 Illinois.
