SAN DIEGO - Collecting US Sailing's top annual prize, former ICSA All-American and 1996 Stanford graduate Adam Lowry has been named US Sailing Rolex Yachtsman of the Year. He shares the honor with his boatmate, Mike Martin, and Daniela Moroz.
Lowry and Martin put together an impressive resume on the water in 2019, earning victories at the International 505 World Championship, 505 North American Championship, 505 Canadian Championship and the Columbia Gorge One-Design Regatta- 505. The world championship, held in Freemantle, Australia, came against 88 of the top competitors from around the world.
Lowry was also a standout sailor at Stanford, earning All-American honors as a skipper during his senior campaign. Not the only nominee for the award with Stanford ties, incoming recruit Berta Puig was one of four finalists for the women's prize.
