Academic Recognition

STANFORD, Calif. – Twelve Cardinal were recognized by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) for their achievements in the classroom.

Stanford was among the top 10 academic teams in collegiate water polo across all divisions with a team grade-point average of 3.38. The Cardinal was the only MPSF squad among the top 10.

Student-athletes eligible for the ACWPC All-Academic award have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. Athlete merit levels include "Excellent" (3.20 to 3.40), "Superior" (3.41 to 3.70) and "Outstanding" (3.71 to 4.00).

Earning "Outstanding" distinction for the Cardinal were sophomores Nik Caryotakis and AJ Rossman, and freshman Larson Weigle.

Nine Cardinal landed on the "Superior" list – seniors Bennett Williams and Dylan Woodhead, redshirt junior Ben Hallock, junior Tyler Abramson, redshirt sophomores Parker Killion and Zack LaGrange, sophomore Spencer Hanson and freshmen Andrew Churukian and Beck Jurasius.

In December, Stanford won its 11th NCAA title, 12th overall and first since 2002. Stanford repeated as Mountain Pacific Sports Federation champion and finished 21-2 overall.
